The National Association of Insurance Commissioners (NAIC) struck a working group in 2020 to explore a model law for pet insurance, and NAPHIA has been actively engaged in this work.
JAVMA (Journal of the American Veterinary Medical Association) News writer Kaitlyn Mattson recently spoke with NAPHIA President Rick Faucher on this issue. In this introductory article she highlights what’s involved in the process and how it could impact veterinarians and their practices with regards to how vet teams can speak about PHI with pet owners.
