Nearby Attractions

April 21, 2014

There will be plenty to see and do at Summit 2014, even if you never leave the resort! But if you do  have a little extra time, or if you have friends or family joining you on the trip, you may want to check out some of the nearby attractions. We’ve listed just a few of them below.

Washington, DC

Our conference venue is located just outside Washington, DC, the capital city of the United States. Washington is a city rich with history, culture, events and  sights. If you’ve never been there before, it’s an experience you won’t want to miss.

Space Shuttle Discovery

When will you ever have another chance to see a space shuttle with your own eyes? Check out the ‪Steven F. Udvar-Hazy Center, ‬just 20 minutes from the resort. While you’re there, make sure to see the World War II aviation exhibits, the rockets and missiles, and the Cold War applications satellites.

Virginia Wine Country

The Lansdowne is located in the heart of Virginia wine country…  A quick look at Google maps reveals that there are at least five premium wineries within a half-hour drive of the resort, all north just off highway 15. What are you waiting for? Pick a designated driver and GO!

Harpers Ferry Adventure Center

Get your adrenaline pumping with a visit to the Harpers Ferry Adventure Center. They’ve got white water rafting, water tubing, zip line tours, kayaking, canoeing, fishing, hiking, off-road Segway tours and more. Good thing the Lansdowne has a spa – you’ll need it after all that!
