FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Tuesday, September 1, 2015 — Each September, the North American Pet Health Insurance Association (NAPHIA) celebrates Pet Health Insurance month, educating pet owners about the importance of insurance and how it works and its benefits. This year, the organization is marking the month by releasing a new report which illustrates the most common medical conditions for cats and dogs – as claimed by pet insurance policyholders in 2014. It’s a revealing look at proprietary data that demonstrates the range of medical conditions that pet parents may face and need to finance.
“A lot of pet owners who have pets suffering from an illness or injury don’t realize that many other pet owners are dealing with the same issue. Insurance helps the pets, and owners, by allowing them to access the best care possible without breaking the bank.” says Kristen Lynch, Executive Director of the North American Pet Health Insurance Association (NAPHIA).
Interestingly, cats and dogs share the #1 medical condition, urinary tract infection. It is important to treat this common condition, not only because it can be debilitating and painful to pets, but also because it can lead to a host of other symptoms and illnesses.
